George Cherepov - Painting The Hull

George Cherepov (1909-1987) was a painter of Russian origin known for his use of color in a wide variety of subjects, including landscapes, seascapes, and still lifes. He is known especially for his oil paintings of New England's autumn colors.

Major palette;

• Cadmium Red Light
• Alizarin Crimson
• Cadmium Yellow Pale
• Yellow Ochre Pale
• Ultramarine Blue
• Cobalt Blue
• Viridian
• Burnt Sienna
• Burnt Umber

Secondary additions;

• Venetian Red
• Indian Red
• Pthalo Blue
• Cadmium Orange

Limited palette;

• Indian Red 
• Caput Mortuum (Mummy or Egyptian brown)
• Yellow Ochre (Pale)
• Prussian Blue
• White (was of course always used for both and he used titanium and sometimes zinc or lead too)

It's also interesting to note that he preferred to use Winsor & Newton Artist brand paints.
